Taking place at **Plus X Innovation Brighton on 9 September 2026, from 11:00am to 12:45pm**, Side Hustles in Nap Time is designed for mothers who want to return to paid work with greater confidence or develop a business idea, side project or portfolio career that fits around family life. Rather than spending the session listening to a lecture, you’ll make tangible progress in the room. The workshop will help you turn an early idea into a simple prototype that can be tested with potential users, while showing how AI can support both creative thinking and the everyday work of running a growing business. ## What to expect During the session, attendees will: - Build a simple prototype to test a business or side-project idea - Learn how to frame and communicate that idea clearly in an AI-shaped working world - Explore practical ways AI can support a return to paid work - Watch a live demonstration of AI being used across the operations of a supply-chain tracking platform - Meet other mothers navigating similar questions around work, business and family life Contributors include **Rose Tighe**, Product Leader, Co-Founder and Chair of Brighton AI; **Sarah Kemp**, a narrative architect; and **Frankie Hewitson**, who will demonstrate how she uses AI within her supply-chain tracking platform. ## Who is it for? The workshop welcomes women from **any industry and with any level of AI experience**, including complete beginners. It is particularly relevant to those currently on maternity leave, but mothers who have already returned to paid work are also welcome. You do not need to arrive with a fully formed business plan,the emphasis is on clarifying an idea, experimenting and taking a useful first step. Babies are welcome, with both **Mum & Baby** and **Mum** tickets available for £12 each. Arrivals and informal networking begin at 11:00am, followed by the structured workshop at 11:30am.
