Public AI Hackathon

Build for the public. On Wednesday 16 September 2026, North Star teams up with the Province of Antwerp and AP Hogeschool for the Public AI Hackathon. One day, in Antwerp, building AI tools with the people who actually run our cities. This one is built for the public sector. The challenges come straight from interviews with local economy officers across ten Antwerp municipalities, and those same officers mentor on the day. What's in it for builders: Engineer, designer, problem-solver or someone who knows how public services really work, there's a seat for you on a team. These are problems code alone can't solve, so any profile is welcome and we encourage you to come as a team.
