We are back with another edition of the AI Breakfast – a meeting over good coffee, sandwiches, and topics that resonate with the future. This time we are meeting at the Iver Polska headquarters in Gdańsk and we will workshop three important perspectives on the development of AI: what Open Source AI really is, what changes in regulations after the AI Omnibus, and how to build and scale AI services using the CAISE platform. In the program: Magdalena Raniszewska AI Act after AI Omnibus: what is already in force and what awaits us? The last few months have seen significant changes in the regulations governing artificial intelligence, so it is worth organizing where we currently stand and what is actually already in force. Therefore, we will start the breakfast with a small update. During a short presentation, Magdalena Raniszewska will present the current legal status of the AI Act after the changes introduced by the AI Omnibus and discuss which obligations apply from August 2, 2026, and which have been postponed. She will also explain what role the new Polish law on artificial intelligence systems plays and which bodies will be responsible for overseeing the application of the regulations. Krzysztof Przekwas How Open is Open Source AI As AI models become a central element of our development stacks and companies, the IT community faces a rather crucial question: what really makes AI “Open Source”? I would like to share my experiences and opinions on why defining Open Source AI is fundamentally different (and harder) than with traditional open source software. How the market is trying to respond and how to sense the phenomenon of open washing amidst the marketing noise. The possibilities of using the platform by SMEs, startups, and the public sector will be discussed, with a particular focus on access to scalable cloud infrastructure, HPC computing resources, secure data processing and storage, DevOps tools, data analytics, and AI components. dR Klaudia Maciejewska Lawyer, product manager, head of the Currenda Lab research and development center, permanent court mediator, and personal data protection inspector.
