Build with Google Maps Platform and AI Overview: The Google Developer Group CDMX invites software engineers, researchers, and technology enthusiasts to a session dedicated to the development of the Codelab: Build with Google Maps Platform and Artificial Intelligence. In this codelab, we will create a block explorer, an interactive geospatial game that combines real-time map data with Generative Artificial Intelligence. We will use AI Studio to build the application and integrate it with Google Maps Platform and the Gemini API. We will learn how to deploy the final application directly to Cloud Run, making it possible for others to use it. Key activities: We will use Google AI Studio to prototype an interactive web-based geospatial trivia application. Enable and automatically provision a demo key for Google Maps Platform directly within the AI Studio workspace. Implement dynamic geocoding of addresses, place discovery, and trivia questions generated with AI. Enhance the accuracy of trivia questions by integrating Maps Grounding Lite. Test the application in the interactive testing environment (sandbox). Deploy the application on Cloud Run directly from the Google AI Studio user interface. What we will learn: How to use the "Build mode" in Google AI Studio to quickly prototype a full-stack service using natural language. How to use the Google Maps Platform API to build applications with geospatial data. How to apply grounding techniques for LLM prompts with geospatial data as real-world context to generate dynamic trivia and local observations. How to deploy your AI Studio application as a serverless container on Cloud Run.
