No Slides Allowed - ML Paper Reading Session

Fed up with attending reading groups? You read papers, but the ideas don’t stay with you? You want to dive deeper but end up procrastinating anyway? SAFL is hosting the inaugural edition of "No Slides Allowed" - a focused ML research paper reading session where we will sit down and work through a proof. The aim is not to rush through papers but to take a single theorem, lemma, or idea and strive to understand it thoroughly. So, if brainstorming at the whiteboard is your sort of thing, then you’ll feel right at home in our reading group. What are we reading this week? Transformers are inherently succinct (Bergsträßer et al., 2026, ICLR Outstanding Paper). What to expect? 10 minutes of context-setting, 30 minutes of derivations by a facilitator, followed by discussions and Q&A. Light refreshments included! Where?
