Automating news monitoring using AI, drafting press releases, and converting content across multiple channels is no longer unfamiliar. AI search and GEO have also become significant topics in the PR and communication industry. However, as technology evolves rapidly, one question becomes more crucial: Are we sufficiently discussing not only how well we use AI but also what to judge and who should take responsibility? What we see in PR practice are individual execution tasks such as press releases, media relations, content, events, and newsrooms. However, there is always a judgement before that. We need to decide what facts to bring outside the organization, what stakeholders are curious about, what to emphasize and what to downplay, when to talk and when to wait. As AI quickly performs individual micro-tasks, the importance of strategy and planning increases. In the third meeting, we will discuss strategic communication and governance in the AI era beyond just tools. We will explore how organizational trust is built, how PR organizations should connect information inside and outside the company, what leadership communication should do differently, and what principles and approval systems are needed in situations where AI participates in information production and distribution. Speaker | Kang Hamsu, CEO of Escotos Consulting CEO Kang Hamsu began as a news analysis researcher at the Blue House, then worked at Metacommunications and Edelman Korea, gaining experience in media promotion and campaign practices. Since founding Escotos Consulting, a strategic communication consulting firm, in 2009, he has provided consulting on corporate crisis management and PR strategies. He has conducted various strategic communication projects on reputation management, crisis management, internal communication, and ESG for major groups such as Samsung, SK, LG, CJ, Shinsegae, as well as government and public institutions, and has continuously provided training and workshops for corporate leaders. During this presentation, we will focus on the ‘AI Era Strategic Communication Governance Framework Ver.1.0’ and address the following questions. Topics to be covered in this presentation: Essence of Strategic Communication Looking beyond merely sending out messages, we view PR as a role in reducing the gap between the organization's reality and stakeholder expectations, building Trust Capital. Shift from 'Channel Occupation' to 'Knowledge and Trust' We will explore an environment where we need to manage not only messages that are well communicated to people but also information that AI can accurately understand and reconstruct. Boundary Role in Information Management of PR Organizations Discussing the role of PR in connecting risks and values between internal departments and external stakeholders, as well as managing the transparency of data and criteria for information approval. Leadership and Emotional Solidarity The greater the uncertainty, the more crucial it is for organizational leaders to create trust through the language they use with stakeholders, and we will examine how PR can support the role of leaders as 'Trust Brokers'. Discussion topics to share: Implementation Format: 6:30–7:10 | Networking This meeting, we will have a more ample networking time. Introduction to AI PR Forum: The AI PR Forum is a community that collaboratively establishes the standards for PR and content marketing in the AI era using the language of practitioners. We do not view AI merely as a tool to enhance productivity. We question how to more accurately manage the organization’s messages and information, relationships with stakeholders, and trust while reducing repetitive tasks. This is a place to discuss the grammar of PR in the AI era, share experiences, and collaboratively create standards that have yet to be agreed upon. See you at the third meeting.
