Please understand this in advance and apply accordingly.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━[Background of the Event]This is a practical roundtable on the theme of 'the AI transformation of VCs' that has hardly been discussed in Japan so far.The connection between VC data infrastructure and LLM has begun, and smartround has started providing an investment management MCP server that allows general AI to directly reference investment lists, securities data, and financial information, automatically generating reports for LPs and internal documents.Solutions have been provided for data accuracy issues, setup burdens, and security concerns that have hindered VC's use of AI, leading to VCs starting to practically use it. This is an unprecedented opportunity in Japan to discuss 'the AI transformation of VC's own operations and organization' as stakeholders, rather than just focusing on 'AI of investees'. We will share real utilization examples from different companies and discuss the nature of VC organizations in the AI era.━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━[Speakers]Shota Araki (Animal Spirits LLC / General Partner) Graduated from Waseda University with a degree in Political Science and Economics. After working as a certified public accountant at audit firm Deloitte, he obtained an MBA from Kellogg School of Management and engaged in M&A and fundraising activities at Goldman Sachs Securities in Tokyo and New York. He then joined Signifiant Co., Ltd. and was involved in investing in more than ten startups through Growth Capital 'THE FUND'. As a practical expert of a seed-stage VC, he will share AI utilization cases. Taro Mizuno (UTEC / The University of Tokyo Edge Capital Partners / AI Director & Investment Principal) Led the company-wide introduction project of ChatGPT Enterprise at Moderna (US) for the APAC region. After managing the operations of a UTEC investee biotech venture, he joined Moderna in the U.S. following the acquisition of the company. Currently, beyond VC, he supports startups with AI and cloud adoption and governance building, while also leading the establishment of early-stage ventures as an interim CEO. As an investor in the science/technology domain, he will discuss the AI utilization in VC operations.Naoki Nakao (Smart Round Inc. / Executive Officer VP of Revenue) Joined Smart Round in July 2024. Responsible for customer success for investors, leading support for implementation and utilization among investor users, mainly VCs and CVCs, and aggregating product feedback. As a leader of the investor team, he drives the revenue base from the investor side.
