Utilizing Generative AI for Undercover Chat Operations This 90-minute session examines the growing role of generative artificial intelligence in Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigations and undercover operations. Participants will learn how offenders are using generative AI to create exploitative material, facilitate grooming, enhance deceptive online personas, and evade detection. The course will then introduce practical methods for using locally installed, offline generative AI software to create safe and ethical decoy images without using photographs of real children or uploading sensitive material to third-party platforms. Participants will explore image-generation workflows, operational considerations, and techniques for producing consistent undercover personas. Emphasis will be placed on legal, ethical, and policy considerations, documentation, image security, and maintaining the integrity of ICAC undercover operations.
