You can license the same models your suppliers can. So can your competitors. The tooling that felt like an advantage eighteen months ago is arriving on both sides of the table at once. If that's right, the interesting question is no longer what AI does to procurement. It's where leverage comes from when capability stops being scarce. There's a real boundary here already. AI automation and negotiation as live today is mostly in low-value, low-risk categories, with people reviewing the output. Nobody has a clear answer for what happens in high-value, high-risk strategic spend. That's the edge of the map, and it's where we'd like to spend ninety minutes. We don't have a settled answer.
