Tech for Good Scotland September 2026
Description
Tech for Good Scotland returns to Glasgow on 23 September 2026 for a free morning of responsible AI, civic technology and cross-sector connection. Taking place from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Barclays Eagle Labs Glasgow, this 13th Tech for Good Scotland event brings together people who want digital, data and design to create positive social impact. Expect two focused talks alongside informal networking over coffee and a morning pastry. ## Talks and agenda Doors open at 10:00am for coffee, pastries and connections, giving attendees 25 minutes to meet peers from Scotland’s third, public and private sectors. At 10:25am, Ross McCulloch will introduce the event and its Barclays Eagle Labs hosts before the talks begin at 10:30am sharp. The speaker programme includes: - Paola Di Giuseppe , “Ethics, bias and responsible AI: balancing innovation with accountability”. This session explores how data, assumptions and human choices shape AI and machine-learning systems. Through real-world examples, Paola will examine how biased datasets, inappropriate proxies and design decisions can produce unfair outcomes, as well as the social, ethical and legal consequences. The talk will consider how organisations can pursue innovation while protecting fairness, privacy and accountability. - Shelley Denton, representing Scotland Women in Technology and Forrit, and Ross McCulloch, from Digital Trustees and Third Sector Lab, will present “Why Scotland’s Tech Talent and Civil Society Need Each Other”,a discussion connecting the country’s technology expertise with the needs and opportunities of civil society. ## Who should attend? The event is designed for a broad, cross-sector audience: third-sector teams exploring digital tools; funders helping organisations improve services through technology; public-sector professionals working in policy, funding or delivery; activists engaging communities online; tech-for-good start-ups and established businesses; and digital, data or design practitioners who see their skills as a force for good.… Register for this event
