Rocketride Office Hours: One Agent or many?
Description
Anthropic measured multi-agent systems 90.2% better. Cognition published a post called “Don’t Build Multi-Agent Systems.” Both are right, and the argument is over. By 2026 everyone converged on the same pattern: one agent owns the full context and spawns short-lived subagents that each get a fresh window, do one isolated thing, and return a single summary. Anthropic’s research system, Claude Code’s Task tool, OpenAI’s agents-as-tools, Cognition’s own Managed Devins. Same shape. So the interesting questions are the ones nobody settled: We’ll also show where this lands in a real pipeline, and how per-node token tracing tells you whether a multi-agent win was architecture or just a bigger bill. Agenda: 5 min intros, 30 min on the topic, then open discussion. Bring your own setup and your disagreements, the second half is the better half. Runs in the RocketRide Discord. Voice or chat, both count. Recorded, with a written summary after. Part 2 of Agentic Building.
