OpenClaw From the Oceanfloor Up 🦞

In January earlier this year ClawdBot was released to the public along with Moltbook (an AI-only social media), going viral for crazy things AI agents were saying and doing. Being sued by Anthropic, it was then renamed to MoltBot, then OpenClaw. In February the project became the most starred repository on Github and the founder got hired by OpenAI. Then in March, Meta acquired MoltBook and Nvidia releases NemoClaw. From zero to the hottest topic in tech in 3 months... What's going on? Why is OpenClaw so important? And how exactly does it work? 🦞 This month we'll dive into understanding the technology behind AI agents like OpenClaw, why they are important, and how you can set up your own. The brilliant Udbhav Kansal (check him out representing Canada at a hackathon in France) is going to talk us through the architecture behind OpenClaw — it's simpler than you think! — and then we'll get hands on teaching everyone how to set up OpenClaw on your own device. ​Students@AI Vancouver is a learning and community space for students — anyone who considers themselves a learner — who want to understand how AI is shaping school, work, and the world.
