Online Age-Friendly AI Information Session

Discover how to help older adults understand AI at this free online Age-Friendly AI information session on 18 September 2026, from 11:45am to 1pm. Artificial intelligence already influences familiar activities such as checking the weather, shopping online and using digital banking. This interactive Zoom session offers a practical introduction to Age-Friendly AI, Ireland’s national AI literacy initiative for older adults, and explains how its training can be brought to more communities across Ireland. ## What to expect The Age-Friendly AI team will introduce the project, share its approach to accessible AI education and walk attendees through the Introduction to AI teaching materials. There will also be an opportunity to meet the team and ask questions about the initiative and its resources. During the 75-minute session, you will: - Explore the Introduction to AI training materials - Learn how the resources explain AI in the context of everyday life - Hear practical tips for delivering your own Age-Friendly AI workshop - Connect directly with the project team - Ask questions about using the training within your community or region You can preview the materials in advance on the Age-Friendly AI Resources Page, although preparation is not required. ## Who is it for? This session is designed for anyone curious about how AI is shaping daily life, as well as people interested in empowering older adults and their communities to navigate an increasingly digital world. It may be especially relevant to community members and prospective workshop facilitators who want to understand or share accessible AI literacy training. No previous AI knowledge or experience is needed. The event is an information session rather than a technical class, making it approachable for complete beginners. ## About Age-Friendly AI Age-Friendly AI is funded by Research Ireland and run by the ADAPT Centre and TU Dublin. Its training initiative emerged from a year-long series of public dialogues focused on older adults’ hopes, concerns and vision for AI in their lives.
