Northeastern Datathon Orientation

Overview Join us on October 2 for the Datathon Kickoff, our second and final open event before applications close and the build sessions begin. Already participating? Get a head start by learning exactly what to expect, exploring the resources available to you, and meeting the builders and mentors you will spend the build sessions with. Not yet participating? This is your last chance to learn more about the Datathon before applications close on October 4. We will introduce Trilemma Foundation and why we incubate technical talent, walk through the Datathon from build sessions to Demo Day, and hear directly from two of our Datathon judges on creating value with data and AI, and what makes technical talent valuable. Speakers Issam Laradji Issam is a Senior Staff Research Scientist at ServiceNow, Adjunct Professor at UBC, and Founder and Director of VAM, an AI community. Hear his perspective on turning data and AI into real world value before he evaluates what our builders create on Demo Day. Leonardo Arbelaez Leonardo is a Data Consultant at CGI and an experienced data leader specializing in data engineering, architecture, governance, and AI. Hear his perspective on what makes technical talent valuable and what he will be looking for from builders throughout the Datathon. Meet the Community The second hour is open networking. Come grab some pizza, find a teammate, meet other builders, and connect with mentors and the broader Trilemma and Northeastern community. Get a Head Start The build sessions begin after the kickoff.
