This Claude Community Event is organized by local community members. Anyone building with Claude Code is welcome to come hang out! This is a networking-focused meetup: one talk up front, and the rest of the evening is yours to chat. Talk (about 40 minutes) "Where Is Your Money Actually Going?" | Speaker: Eddie Kao You've probably had this happen: you barely asked anything, yet a big chunk of your usage is suddenly gone. The reason usually isn't the sentence you typed. Every request you send carries a whole bundle with it, your project config files, all the tool definitions, that entire file you just had it read, plus every earlier turn of the conversation resent in full. What you actually typed is often a tiny fraction of the total. This talk pulls that bundle apart so you have a rough sense of what each piece costs. Then we'll get into three places where there's real money to be saved: the conditions under which the same content can be reused at a fraction of the price, and which moves make that discount disappear; which tasks genuinely don't need the most expensive model; and how much context you should actually feed in, because overstuffing doesn't just cost more, it also drags the quality of the answers down. Who This Is For No prep required, just show up, listen, and talk. If you've only been using it for a short while, you're equally welcome. Nothing in the talk assumes you're already an expert. On that note, if you've built something with Claude Code, whether it's shipped to production, a small tool you wrote for yourself, or an experiment you're halfway through, bring your laptop and show it off. Just open it up during the networking time. No slides, no need to have it all polished. The stuff that broke usually makes the better story anyway.
