Description

Explore how trusted AI can build organisational confidence, capability and better outcomes at this free Hampshire AI event in Southampton. Taking place at the Axis Conference Centre on Tuesday 8 September 2026, from 6pm to 8pm, this in-person evening looks beyond the technology itself to examine what makes AI adoption work in practice: effective governance, capable teams, responsible design and the trust of the people expected to use it. ## What to expect Two experienced technology leaders will draw on enterprise, operational and healthcare environments to explore the people, processes and structures behind successful AI implementation. Steve Gibson, Transformation Consultant at QGate, will argue that organisations should treat AI as part of the workforce rather than simply another software tool. Drawing on successful and unsuccessful examples of adoption, his talk will consider the leadership, governance, skills and training required to introduce AI safely, ethically and with measurable business outcomes. Steve brings more than 25 years of experience across technology, innovation and change, including recent work helping organisations implement Copilot within operational teams. Nick Liebmann, Director of Engineering at Nourish Care, will explain how AI is being engineered into secondary healthcare to support clinicians and improve patient care. He will explore how organisations can identify where AI genuinely adds value, preserve essential human judgement and earn trust through governance, responsible engineering and real-world experience. Nick leads a multidisciplinary team of 70 delivering high-availability, person-centred software for the regulated social care sector. Key themes include: - Building trust in AI systems and processes - Creating confidence through effective governance - Developing the organisational capability to embed AI - Treating AI as part of modern operational teams - Balancing automation with human judgement - Lessons from enterprise, healthcare and social care settings ## Format and audience The programme opens with arrival and networking from 6pm, followed by a welcome at 6:25pm and Steve’s AI in the Modern Workforce session at 6:30pm. There will also be opportunities to meet other attendees before and after the talks.… Register for this event
