Hack-Nation’s global AI hackathon comes to the Mexico City hub at Tec de Monterrey, Campus Toluca, on 3–4 October 2026, with online participation too. ## Build AI with a global community This seventh edition of Hack-Nation’s Global AI Hackathon offers two intensive days to turn an idea into a working project while collaborating with developers, researchers and founders around the world. The Mexico hub is billed as the only in-person location in the Americas outside the United States, making it a distinctive opportunity to compete globally without leaving Mexico. The hybrid event connects participants in [Mexico City](https://www.createwith.com/cities/mexico-city) with communities associated with MIT, Stanford, Columbia, Harvard and Princeton, as well as London, Munich, Zurich, Delhi and other international locations. Hack-Nation is also collaborating with the MIT Sloan AI Club for this edition. ## What to expect Participants will work on real AI challenges in a practical hackathon environment focused on building rather than simply discussing ideas. You can apply individually, compete solo or form a team of up to four people. The format is designed to help attendees: - Find international teammates and potential long-term collaborators - Build and demonstrate an AI project under hackathon conditions - Gain visibility among Big Tech companies and startup ecosystems - Compete alongside talented developers, researchers and founders - Explore potential support for turning a project into a company - Access possible exposure to venture capital and acceleration opportunities No specific experience threshold is stated, but the programme is particularly relevant to technical builders, AI researchers, startup founders and ambitious students who are ready to contribute to a working project.
