Growing up with AI
Description
Generative AI tools are becoming part of everyday life for children and young people, whether for homework help, creative projects, or everyday curiosity. But what does this mean for how kids learn, think, and grow? This workshop brings parents, guardians, and educators together to share experiences and perspectives on children's use of AI tools. Across this interactive session, we'll explore: • What parents and teachers notice about children's emotional habits and friendships when AI is part of daily life • Whether AI supports children's thinking, or starts doing the work for them • The bigger picture: benefits, risks, and open questions about AI in children's lives This isn't a lecture - it's a chance to discuss, ask questions, and share your own experiences with other parents, guardians, and educators, while contributing to research that will help shape our understanding of children's AI use. No prior knowledge of AI is needed. Whether you're curious, concerned, or somewhere in between, all parents, guardians, and educators are welcome. Please note: this is an adult-only session - no children under 16 will be attending or participating. We may collect demographic data to help us understand who is attending our events.
