Frontier Signals #01: Infrastructure Behind Physical AI — Intelligence Beyond the Screen
Description
Frontier Signals #01: Physical AI Intelligence Beyond the Screen Artificial intelligence is moving beyond the screen. The next generation of AI systems will not only generate text, images, and software. They will perceive their surroundings, reason about changing conditions, simulate possible outcomes, make decisions, and act in the physical world. Frontier Signals 01: Physical AI brings together engineers, founders, researchers, investors, and infrastructure leaders exploring the systems required to move AI from models to machines. The evening will feature five rapid five-minute keynote speeches highlighting major signals shaping Physical AI, followed by two 30-minute panel discussions on real-time intelligence, robotics, AI infrastructure, and loop engineering. The central question of the evening is: This is not a general introduction to AI. It is a focused technical gathering for people who want to understand what must be built beneath the model for intelligence to operate reliably in the real world. 🎤 Five Frontier Keynotes Five speakers will each deliver a focused five-minute perspective on an important shift shaping Physical AI. Topics will include: 🤖 Panel One: From Tokens to Actions Building the Compute Stack for Real-Time AI and Robotics This panel will examine the complete infrastructure required to translate model intelligence into reliable physical action. The discussion will include: 🔁 Panel Two: Loop Engineering for Physical AI Building Systems That Observe, Reason, Act, Evaluate, and Recover Physical AI cannot operate through a single prompt-and-response interaction. Intelligent machines must continuously understand their environment, choose an action, evaluate the outcome, recover from failure, and determine what to do next. The panel will explore: Featured Speakers and Panelists Kevin Liwen Lin Member of Technical Staff, OpenAI Kevin is a systems engineer working on AI infrastructure and high-performance computation. Before joining OpenAI, he worked on NVIDIA’s cuDNN team across GPU kernels, kernel abstractions, Hopper and Blackwell bring-up, emerging data types, validation systems, and cross-stack AI performance. Yijie Hong Head of AI, GMI Cloud Yijie works across generative AI inference, GPU infrastructure, model serving, and scalable production AI systems. His work focuses on the infrastructure tradeoffs that determine inference performance, efficiency, and reliability at scale. Hang Huang Co-Founder and CEO, InsForge Hang is building agent-native cloud infrastructure designed for AI coding agents. InsForge enables agents to create, configure, operate, debug, and recover production backend systems with fewer human-centered infrastructure barriers. Timothy Chen Managing Partner, Essence Venture Capital Tim is an engineer-turned-investor backing early-stage companies across AI infrastructure, developer tools, data platforms, enterprise systems, and open-source technology. Oskar Yao, CFA Investor and Capital Markets, Google Oskar works across investment, capital markets, and strategic financial initiatives at Google. He brings a perspective on how emerging technologies move from technical breakthroughs into scalable companies, ecosystems, and investment opportunities. Chenxi Huang Chief Product Officer, FinChip AI Chenxi leads product strategy at FinChip AI, helping build the infrastructure, products, and ecosystem needed for AI skills and agents to be discovered, distributed, and used across the emerging agent economy. Syrus Akbary Founder and CEO, Wasmer Syrus is the founder and CEO of Wasmer, where he is building next-generation compute infrastructure powered by WebAssembly. His work spans universal runtimes, serverless and edge computing, developer platforms, secure code execution, and infrastructure for increasingly autonomous AI-powered software systems. Speaker participation and individual keynote or panel assignments are subject to final confirmation. 🗓️ Agenda 5:00 PM – 5:30 PM 🍽️ Check-In, Food, and Networking Arrive, check in, enjoy food, and meet builders, researchers, founders, investors, and AI infrastructure leaders. 5:30 PM – 5:40 PM Welcome to Frontier Signals Opening remarks and an introduction to the central idea behind Physical AI: the transition from models that generate outputs to systems that perceive, reason, and act. 5:40 PM – 6:10 PM 🎤 Five Frontier Keynotes Five speakers will each deliver a focused five-minute keynote presenting one important signal shaping the future of Physical AI. 6:10 PM – 6:15 PM Panel Transition A short synthesis connecting the keynote ideas to the first technical discussion. 6:15 PM – 6:45 PM 🤖 Panel One: From Tokens to Actions Building the Compute Stack for Real-Time AI and Robotics A technical discussion on models, inference infrastructure, GPU kernels, edge computing, robotics, simulation, and real-time execution. 6:45 PM – 7:00 PM 💬 Audience Questions Audience questions and open discussion with the first panel. 7:00 PM – 7:15 PM 🍽️ Food and Networking Break Continue the conversation over food and connect with speakers and attendees. 7:15 PM – 7:45 PM 🔁 Panel Two: Loop Engineering for Physical AI Building Systems That Observe, Reason, Act, Evaluate, and Recover A discussion on continuous autonomous loops, memory, orchestration, verification, evaluation, failure recovery, and safe real-world action. 7:45 PM – 8:00 PM 💬 Audience Questions Audience questions and an open technical discussion with the second panel. 8:00 PM – 8:20 PM 🤝 Structured Networking Meet others working across robotics, AI infrastructure, agents, GPU systems, investment, simulation, and emerging technology. 8:20 PM – 8:30 PM Closing Signals Speakers will share the most important open problems, emerging opportunities, and ideas builders should begin working on next.
