Description
Title: Foundation AI Tools for Third Sector Organisations Dates: 13th July 2026 Time: 9:30am - 3pm Naylor Leyland Centre, Ruthin LL15 1AF Curious about AI but not sure where to start? Feeling overwhelmed by all the headlines, jargon and endless new tools appearing every week? This practical, friendly and beginner-focused workshop has been designed specifically for people working in charities, voluntary organisations, community groups and the public sector. Over the course of the day, you'll discover how free and low-cost AI tools can help you save time, generate ideas, reduce admin, create content more quickly and support your everyday work. Whether you're writing funding applications, creating social media content, planning projects, researching information or simply trying to stay on top of your workload, AI can become a genuinely useful addition to your toolkit. This isn't a generic "AI for business" course. Everything is tailored to the realities of third sector organisations, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions, experiment with tools and explore real-life applications relevant to your role. Together, we'll explore a range of accessible tools including ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Canva, NotebookLM, Notion, Perplexity and Google Lens, as well as tools for transcription, voice-to-text, handwriting recognition, research, content creation and more. By the end of the session, you'll: ✔ Understand what AI is and how it can support your work ✔ Feel confident using a range of free AI tools ✔ Learn how to write effective prompts and get better results ✔ Discover ways to save time on routine tasks ✔ Explore practical uses for communications, fundraising, marketing, administration and planning ✔ Leave with useful resources, prompts and ideas you can start using immediately No previous AI experience is needed. If you can send an email and browse the internet, you have all the skills required to get started. The workshop is highly interactive, with plenty of opportunities to have a go yourself, ask questions and learn alongside others. The focus is on building confidence and practical skills, not racing through a long list of tools. What previous participants have said: "The content was specific to what our sector may need. It wasn't generic off the shelf, it was thought through and relevant." "It was a fabulous interactive session... the foundation of information provided regarding the more complex uses opens up exciting and time-saving possibilities that I am eager to explore." "Everyone needs to do this course!" Important Information Please bring a laptop or tablet if possible, as the workshop is designed to be hands-on. If you are using a work device, it is worth checking in advance whether your organisation has any restrictions on AI platforms. Come along with curiosity, an open mind and plenty of questions. You'll leave with practical skills, greater confidence and a clearer understanding of how AI can support both you and your organisation.
