Fast Decision-Making with AI: Lessons from Formula 1
Description
AIDAN kick off of the year event. Get ready to learn how AI speeds up split-second calls, inspired by the high-octane world of Formula 1 racing. How can humans use AI to make better decisions when every millisecond matters? As artificial intelligence increasingly supports - and sometimes shapes - high-stakes decisions, speed has become both an advantage and a danger. Few industries demonstrate this tension as vividly as Formula 1: a data-rich, technology-driven and intensely competitive environment where decisions must unite engineering evidence, human judgement and business strategy. Drawing on his strategy research in Formula 1, Professor Paolo Aversa will explore how people and organisations use AI to make decisions under extreme pressure and what leaders, engineers, data scientists and professionals across every sector can learn from the racetrack about using AI wisely when time is short and the stakes are high. Particularly relevant to students and colleagues in AI, data science, engineering, motorsport, business, management and strategy, this AIDAN event is open to the entire Oxford Brookes community. Speaker: Professor Paolo Aversa, Professor of Strategy at King’s Business School, King’s College London. Internationally recognised motorsport and Formula 1 expert, and former Formula Student Italy driver.
