About the European AI Hackathon This multi-day, hands-on coding event (6–29 October 2026) is designed to help SMEs, startups, industry practitioners, and researchers accelerate, optimise, and scale their AI-driven products and services. Participants work in teams alongside dedicated mentors to tackle data-loading bottlenecks, parallelise training, and fine‑tune AI pipelines – all with access to leadership‑class compute resources. > “Open Hackathons are multi-day, hands-on coding events that help developers and researchers accelerate, optimize, and scale their applications on a variety of data center architectures.” — Event description ## Who Should Apply - Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), startups, and researchers based in the EU and/or EuroHPC JU member countries. - Teams must have a clear AI project ready for further development and scaling. - Use your company or institute email address when applying. ## Example AI Projects (illustrative, not exclusive) - Agentic Contract Intelligence – Multi-agent pipelines that parse, risk‑score, and redline contracts across languages and jurisdictions. - Real‑Time Energy Grid Balancing – Agentic systems running thousands of parallel simulations to autonomously balance distributed energy resources. - Legacy Code Modernisation – Fine‑tuning open‑weight code LLMs on COBOL/Fortran codebases with long‑context windows. - Autonomous Quality Inspection – Vision models running high‑FPS inference to detect defects on production lines. - Predictive Maintenance at Scale – Multimodal LLMs integrating sensor logs, manuals, and historical failures to recommend interventions.
