Cursor Chicago: Tiny Builds, Big Impact

Description

Not everything you build with AI needs to be a web app. A lot of Cursor content is about shipping big full-stack applications. Cursor is great at that, but this event is about building everything else. The small, useful things you can build in an hour, an afternoon, or a weekend. It might be a script that saves you 5 minutes a day, an HTML file you update over time, or a CSV of important data you come back to only occasionally. These tiny life improvements are the builds nobody tweets about but get used daily. If you're curious about using AI, but don't feel like you have the next great startup app idea, this is for you. The finding and removing friction is the whole point of building software. And with AI, you start noticing lots of little problems in your life worth solving. What will you be talking about building?"Start with a problem you actually have. Data you keep track of in your head. A workflow you do by hand every week. Something you Google the same way every time. The output could be an HTML page, a CSV, a Python script, a cron job, an automation, whatever solves the thing. We'll have a small panel share examples from our own lives and work, and you'll probably leave with a list of ideas you hadn't thought of yet. Our HostSpace and support for this Cursor community event is provided by Protiviti (protiviti.com) a global consulting firm that helps clients transform, protect, and respond through deep expertise in technology, finance, audit, risk, and more.
