Description

⚠️ Only register if you can attend in person Hosted by Aioi R&D Lab Oxford. Powered by OpenAI. Description For thirty years, Bayesian machine learning has been about one question: what should you believe given the evidence, and how sure should you be? Coding agents now write, test and ship software on their own, usually without any notion of what they don't know. This evening puts the two traditions in the same room. Prof. Stephen Roberts, Professor of Machine Learning at the University of Oxford and co-founder of Aioi R&D Lab, opens with a talk on Bayesian inference and what it has to say about the current generation of AI agents. The second talk is about agentic engineering in practice using frontier models; speaker to be announced. Then food, drinks and time to talk. Most of the value of these evenings is in who you end up standing next to. Programme Who it's for ML engineers, software developers, researchers and students in and around Oxford who work with AI or want to. You don't need to know Bayes' theorem or have used Codex. For attendees Everyone who checks in on the night receives $50 in Codex credits from the Codex Ambassador programme. Credits go to people who attend, not to registrations, so please only register if you plan to come. Organised by Aioi R&D Lab Oxford, an AI research lab spun out of the University of Oxford, together with Alex Constantin, OpenAI Codex Ambassador in Romania.
