Bristol Machine Learning Workshop
Description
Build practical machine learning skills in Bristol on 16 September 2026 through collaborative problem-solving, topic discussions and proof-of-concept development. The **Bristol Machine Learning Workshop** is a hands-on, two-hour session for anyone who wants to explore machine learning by building and experimenting alongside others. Hosted by CY Y. and Sam D. at DeskLodge House, the workshop focuses on turning ideas and problems into working proof-of-concepts while sharing tools, implementation skills and best practices. This meeting marks the return of the workshop after its summer break. As well as working together, participants will have an opportunity to discuss what they have learned over the break, raise problems they have encountered and help shape where future sessions should go. ## What to expect Each workshop centres on practical machine learning experience and collaborative problem-solving. Rather than limiting the evening to presentations, the group aims to discuss a topic and then generate a proof of concept around it. The format creates space to: - Experiment with new machine learning methods and techniques - Discuss implementation challenges with other participants - Develop a proof of concept during the session - Exchange perspectives on useful tools and best practices - Share recent learning, problems and possible directions for future meetings Bring a **laptop** so you can take part in the practical work. You are also welcome to bring a friend. ## Who is it for? The workshop is open to a broad range of experience levels. Experienced data science and machine learning professionals can use the session to test new approaches, compare practices and work through technical problems with peers. People who are simply curious about what machine learning can do are equally welcome and can gain exposure to real methods, tools and implementation discussions.… [Register for this event](https://www.meetup.com/bristol-data-science-and-machine-learning-study-group/events/315872557/?recId=36426b6b-b577-46be-9477-34502c854b03&recSource=event-search&searchId=5f948d07-1267-4786-8ea9-813c43b89101&eventOrigin=find_page%24all)
