AI of Things
Description
In collaboration with HelpMum, a Lagos based company using AI to improve women and children health, we are hosting our Lagos edition themed the Eko Mixers, focusing on Africa's AI moat. The Eko Mixers is designed to be a speakeasy gathering, and our choice of venue speaks to that. We want AI of Things to be remembered not only for the conversations it drives but also for the sense of place it offers. This edition will be hosted at Ilé Mímu, an Afrocentric third space perched on the twelfth floor of a Victoria Island address overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. From this vantage point, guests will experience a side of Lagos that is rarely seen from street level while sipping from a cup of locally brewed drink. We chose Ilé Mímu because it embodies the spirit of Lagos: vibrant, creative, resilient, non-conforming and constantly in motion. As we yap about AI in Africa, we also want our guests to experience the city that continues to produce many of the continent's boldest ideas. Our hope is that attendees leave with more than insights from the conversation. We want them to take in a Lagos that many visitors never see—to appreciate the beauty within its apparent chaos, and to experience firsthand the energy, optimism and ingenuity that make it one of Africa's most important technology hubs. Looking forward to having you.
