AI is biased, what can we do about it?
Description
The AI world is obsessed with one direction: faster, bigger, more. Ship the agent, automate the workflow, launch the next thing. This session looks the other way. Here's a small story that explains why:A woman recently tried to create an AI avatar of herself. She's latina, and she prompted it that way. With every regeneration, the avatar came out whiter, and whiter. The model wasn't broken. It was working exactly as trained. That's something that should make us feel uncomfortable. Bias, governance, ethics. These words sound like paperwork until you watch them show up in your own tools, your own hiring, your own product. Then they sound like risk. In this live session, Maja Zavrsnik, co-founder & CMO of SheAI, the UN-certified AI education platform for women, brings the talk Jacob saw in person and immediately asked her to repeat it, untouched: a sharp, high-level look at the other side of AI's growth. The side that decides whether all this building actually leaves us better off. The session runs in 2 parts: Part 1 — Maja's talk.Maja walks through the alternative side of AI's development: where the biases live and why they persist even as models improve, what governance actually means when everyone can build, and the questions leaders should be asking before they ship.Real examples, no lecture energy. Part 2 — The conversation.Maja closes on an open question, and the room takes over. Drop your take in the chat, and Jacob will invite you on mic if you are interested. This is the rare session where the discussion is the point, not the afterthought.Expect disagreement. That's the good part. This is a be-present topic, not a second-screen topic if that makes sense. The conversation is better when we can see who we're talking to (suggested, but optional: cameras on) What you'll take away Who should attend Founders, C-levels, and anyone shaping how AI gets used in their company. This is the thinking your roadmap depends on. But also every builder and operator who uses AI daily and has had that flicker of "wait, should we?" mid-prompt. Skeptics and optimists equally welcome, the discussion needs both. About the speaker Maja Zavrsnik is the co-founder and CMO of SheAI, the platform delivering UN-certified AI education for women and working to close the AI gender gap.
