AI Engineer September 2026 Meetup

09 Sep 20269:00 PM - 11:00 PM GMT+00:00Washington, United StatesOpen

Description

Explore how production AI agents are built, simplified and debugged at the Minneapolis AI Engineer Meetup on 9 September 2026 at Industrious T3. ## Two perspectives on production agentic systems This free, in-person meetup brings together AI engineers, software developers and technical product builders for two practical talks about operating agentic systems in the real world. Rather than focusing on prototype demos, the speakers will examine the architecture, observability and engineering decisions required when AI agents become production software. Matt Rein , “One Agent Is Easy. Fifty Agents at 2 AM Is Not.” Matt Rein will trace real failures from symptoms to root causes on a live, multi-cloud platform. The talk moves beyond monitoring a single model endpoint to examine an enterprise environment involving model pools, safety screening, prompt caching, embedding pipelines, shared infrastructure and asynchronous billing. Topics include: - Instrumenting systems with OpenTelemetry to capture routing decisions, screening latency, model-pool contention and cache behaviour - Mapping dependencies across services that share compute, databases and queues - Using causal analysis to connect a deployment with failures occurring several hops, and several minutes, downstream - Understanding why difficult incidents can leave every individual dashboard looking healthy The session was previously presented at Open Source North. Anton Priborkin , “How We Built Pribo: Architecture of a Simplified Agentic Ecosystem” Anton Priborkin will explain the architecture behind Pribo, which places access to an agentic ecosystem behind a single input bar. Most of the session will focus on how the product was built and the engineering choices used to simplify an area often characterised by complicated, loosely assembled enterprise tools. A short demonstration will make the architecture concrete. Together, the talks offer contrasting but complementary views: how to keep a sprawling agent platform observable, and how to collapse a complex ecosystem into a simple interface. ## Schedule and venue Doors open at 4:00 PM CDT for snacks and networking, followed by welcome remarks at 4:30 PM. Matt speaks at 4:40 PM, Anton at 5:10 PM, and the final 20 minutes are reserved for discussion and networking before the 6:00 PM finish.… Register for this event
