Kyoto Student AI Study Group #3 - Let's Share and Discuss Everyone's AI Utilization

This is a monthly gathering of students in Kyoto interested in AI, where we share usage examples through short lightning talks and have discussions over drinks. Three professionals from Kyoto University who are well-versed in AI will be the hosts. This time, after a talk from the organizers about the fundamental concepts of computers and the internet that are useful for using AI, we will explore Claude Code, ChatGPT, and Gemini together while discussing the differences between each LLM. What we do in this meeting The Kyoto Student AI Study Group (※) is a community where we come together to discuss the practical use cases and workflows of generative AI and related tools. (※) We changed the name from the "Kyoto University AI Study Group" to allow more students to participate after receiving participation requests from students living in Kyoto. We hold this event once a month on a weekday evening in the form of short lightning talks followed by free discussions (drinks). Date and Time Venue Flow (tentative) This will be a casual time to share, "This was interesting!" and "I tried making this!" We welcome everyone from beginners sharing their experiences using ChatGPT to engineers discussing topics like "agent development," "RAG," and "MCP." Call for Speakers! 🎤 Who We Want to Join Target Participants and Number Eligibility Participation Fee Organizers Hironari Umino (Yaocchi) Graduated from the Department of Information Science, Kyoto University. After founding Qiita, engaged in M&A, and involved in launching the AI voice dispatch system "maido" at newmo. Has automated phone initial responses with AI, currently achieving a system where nearly half of phone calls are handled solely by AI. This system won the first place at the GENIAC-PRIZE. Currently engaged in creating new experiences combining voice and AI. https://yaotti.ai/ Tsukapon Iwasaki Graduated from the Faculty of Law, Kyoto University, and joined Mitsubishi Corporation. Responsible for business management in the headquarters handling overseas sales and auto loans for Mitsubishi Motors. After founding a talent-related venture, joined Cluster, one of Japan's largest metaverse platforms, as COO in 2017. From September 2020, served as CFO, responsible for IPO preparation, finance, and human resources. Joined Japan Entertainment Co., Ltd. in July 2023, engaged in the opening project of the jungle-themed park "JUNGLIA" in northern Okinawa, completing a hiring project of over 1,500 people as the recruitment manager. From 2026, involved in various operations and projects of multiple companies, including venture capital. Currently based in Kyoto. https://x.com/tsukapon127 Shodai Kamimoto Born in 1989, from Kyoto Prefecture. After graduating from university, worked as an engineer at OBIC Business Consultant Co., Ltd. After founding two companies, joined Anatec Yanako Co., Ltd., a 133-year-old environmental measurement equipment manufacturer, to lead organizational reform, promote in-house DX, and restructure sales subsidiaries. In March 2025, appointed as the president of Yanako Plus Co., Ltd., which specializes in resin processing for precision machinery. In April 2026, founded Shikumi Studio Co., Ltd., which supports small and medium-sized enterprises in utilizing AI and DX. Has served as a Notion ambassador, Canva Japan community manager, Lark ambassador, and researcher at Kyoto University. Holds a Master's in Business Administration from Kyoto University and a Master's in Engineering from Kyoto Institute of Technology.
