A Wicked Problem: AI, Copyright and Intellectual Property

About this event Join us for a dynamic event exploring the current and emerging impacts of artificial intelligence on copyright and intellectual property. Through a series of lightning talks from experts across UQ, including the Library, this session will unpack the implications, risks and opportunities of AI use in research for intellectual property, authorship, copyright and data security. Whether you're curious about emerging technologies, concerned about data security and privacy, or keen to understand how AI is reshaping copyright law and practice, this event offers valuable insights and lively discussion. Hybrid event: Bookings essential to attend in person This is a hybrid event with limited seating for in-person attendance at the FW Robinson Reading Room, the Fryer Library, UQ St Lucia. What to expect • Three short presentations (10 minutes each) from UQ speakers. • Panel discussion (approximately 30 minutes). You will have the opportunity to ask questions (online or in person). • Choose how you participate. You are welcome to listen without asking questions. • You are welcome to take breaks or leave and re-enter the event as needed. The event will conclude at 2:30pm. In person attendees are invited to stay for afternoon tea and informal conversation with speakers and other attendees. Afternoon tea will include tea, coffee, water and juice, along with sweet and savoury options. Halal, gluten-free and vegan options will be available. Further dietary information will be provided on the day.
