A Chinwag About AI 🗣️

A free, in-person AI meetup in Southampton for developers, designers and project managers to compare notes and learn together. Taking place at The Dancing Man Brewery on 18 September 2026, from 7pm to 9pm, this AI Chinwag offers a relaxed alternative to formal conferences and presentation-led tech events. ## No talks, no slides,just useful conversation AI is moving quickly, and learning alone can mean piecing together scattered information without knowing how other people are putting it into practice. This meetup creates space to discuss what is,and is not,working in real projects, ask questions openly and hear perspectives from people across software development, design and project management. There is no fixed talk programme or slide deck. Instead, attendees will spend a couple of hours around a table discussing AI at work and in their personal lives. You can bring: - An AI-related challenge you have been wrestling with - A useful approach, workflow or lesson you want to share - Questions you have not yet had the chance to ask - A laptop, if you would like to demonstrate something you are building - Nothing more than curiosity and a willingness to chat ## Who should attend? AI Chinwag is open to all experience levels. It is designed for people already experimenting with AI as well as those who are curious and trying to understand where to begin. Developers, web and software professionals, UX/UI and digital designers, project managers and other creative or technical practitioners should all find relevant people to exchange ideas with. The emphasis is on figuring things out collectively rather than presenting polished expertise. That makes the evening particularly useful if you are struggling to keep pace with AI, learning in isolation or looking for honest accounts of how others are applying it. ## A community-led meetup Organised by AI Chinwag, a growing local community led by Adam Tomat, the event brings its ongoing online conversations into a friendly face-to-face setting at The Dancing Man Brewery, Town Quay.
