Description

Most people have used an AI chatbot. Far fewer have set up an agent: software that reads your files, runs your tools, and finishes a task while you do something else. Toronto DAO is hosting an evening on applied agentic computing (software agents that take actions on your behalf, not just answer questions). Three things happen here. The last stretch of the evening is a show and tell. Anyone running a setup can put it on the screen and walk the room through it. Most of what people take home from a night like this comes from seeing someone else's working setup and asking why they built it that way. No prior experience with agents is needed. Curiosity and a charged laptop are enough. Who this is for What to bring Agenda 6:00–6:15 PM — Doors open, coffee, and quick introductions 6:15–7:45 PM — Main session with Edward Buchi: what agentic computing is, the setups that work, then build one on your own laptop 7:45–8:00 PM — Break + time to troubleshoot any setups that are misbehaving 8:00–8:25 PM — Guest speaker 8:25–8:55 PM — Show & Tell: bring your own setup to the screen and walk us through it 8:55–9:00 PM — Wrap-up + what to try nextPresenterEdward Buchi is a go to market and product founder in Toronto, and Managing Director of Baptisia Ventures. He spent nine years building blockchain communities in this city, including Bitcoin Bay and five university backed hackathons, and now builds agent systems that run his own company's day to day operations. He hosts The Superlative Podcast, where he talks to founders about the systems behind their work. Follow him for more on agentic setups, and say hello after the session:
