Course: Harness Engineering

The online course Harness Engineering from Fwdays Academy starts on September 7, 2026, and will teach how to transform AI models into reliable agents ready for production. ## From Model to Operational AI Agent This is the third iteration of the thematic series AI Reliability Engineering, dedicated to the engineering environment of the model, harness. The course relies on the formula Agent = Model + Harness: the model itself is considered a given, and the primary focus shifts to the components that provide it with memory, skills, tools, protocols, and external interfaces. Training begins on September 7, 2026; the inaugural online session is scheduled for 18:30–20:30 EEST. The full program consists of three sprints, nine online sessions, and 18 hours of classes, supplemented by practice between meetings. This format allows not only for an examination of architectural approaches but also for their sequential application in one’s own project. ## What the Program Covers Participants will work with the key components of harness architecture and practices for the reliability of AI systems: - Memory, Skills, Protocols, and Interfaces; - tools and external interfaces, including Conversational AI; - MCP servers and MCP/A2A interaction; - RAG and GraphRAG; - end-to-end tracing, evals, and observability; - preparing AI agents for use in a real production environment. The expected result is a comprehensive understanding of the harness architecture, a personal project with agents and MCP servers, as well as practical experience in building systems that can be evaluated, monitored, and improved. The course is best suited for technical specialists who already work with AI systems or wish to deepen their knowledge in agent engineering, SRE, and production reliability. ## Mentor The course is conducted by Denis Vasilyev, Principal SRE with over 17 years of industry experience, UK Global Talent Visa Holder, and certified Kubernetes Administrator.
