Town Hall Part 2 - Collective Brainstorm
Опис
Update on meeting place change: We are now meeting in the Kansha Room (5th floor) at Vancouver Japanese Language School and Japanese Hall. You can take the stairs or elevator up to the 5th floor. No AI Vancouver and SFU Institute for the Humanities is teaming up once again to bring you a continuation of our first town hall. The overwhelming feedback from our event was that attendees wished they had more time to properly meet their neighbours and further exchange ideas after hearing the topics our speakers brought to the evening. We are taking this feedback and bringing you AI Data Centre Town Hall part 2 - Collective Brainstorm. We want to really give a chance to the community to voice their opinions and concerns and collectively imagine solutions together. This will take form in having our attendees gather in groups - think large note pads, sticky notes, sharpies - so we can really see the ideas flowing in the room big on paper.Rounds of discussions guided by facilitators from No AI Vancouver and Simon Fraser University will help get to the heart of what everyone's focus, desires, and concerns are around the question of AI data centers in our city. The conversations that come out of this event will also help guide our understanding of how we can be advocating for our community. So please come, bring your thoughts and be ready to share and listen.Light snacks and beverages will be on site for the taking or by donation.Parking InstructionsDue to limited parking spaces around the venue, we encourage the use of public transit or alternative transportation. Otherwise, there is no-time-limit and free parking on the south side of Alexander St and on Jackson Ave. 2 hour free parking is available on the north side of Alexander St. There is paid parking 1 block away from venue. This event is hosted in collaboration with SFU's Institute for the Humanities.AccessibilityThe auditorium space is wheelchair accessible and there are accessible washrooms on site.About No AI VancouverNo AI Vancouver is a non-profit civic organization founded by local university student Torin Larocque.
