Root Tracing Workshop, hosted by Onto

You are welcome to join our Root Tracing Workshop, organized by media lab Onto (Vertti, Lù, and Begüm). This workshop is part of a research project Onto is conducting with the Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI). Separating roots from soil is a (surprisingly) complex task that frequently involves subjective judgement. As media artists-researchers, we want to ask: can the data labelling process for a root-recognising AI model be art?
