PRIS Act Foundations for AI Integration
Опис
The privacy framework in WA has changed. What does this mean for your AI projects and daily handling of personal information? The Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act 2024 (WA) introduces new privacy obligations for public sector entities and contracted service providers in WA. This practical half-day orientation explains the framework in straightforward language and examines how it may affect AI usage, information handling, and daily workplace decisions. You will engage with practical information flows, AI-related scenarios, and readiness activities to pinpoint where your role might require clearer processes or safeguards. Who this is for This session is designed for: • State government officers in WA • Local government officers • Contracted service providers handling personal information • Professionals involved in privacy, data, governance, or AI integration No prior experience with the PRIS Act or AI is necessary. What we will do together • Understand the framework: Explore the PRIS Act, the WA Office of the Information Commissioner, key commencement dates, and the applicable obligations. • Link privacy principles to AI: Follow the information lifecycle from collection to deletion and identify where AI usage may raise privacy considerations. • Navigate information flows: Review realistic scenarios and differentiate between safer and higher-risk methods of managing information with AI. • Apply the learning to your role: Assess where your current processes may require stronger controls, review points, or documentation. • Create a readiness action list: Convert the session into practical, time-bound actions for your role or team. What you will take home • A plain-language PRIS Orientation Map • An Information Lifecycle Canvas • A completed record of Safe and Unsafe Information Flows • A practical PRIS Readiness Action List Good to know Please bring your laptop for the practical activities. You may bring a general workflow or information-handling scenario from your role, but do not include personal, confidential, or sensitive information. No prior knowledge of the PRIS Act is necessary. This is a practical professional development orientation and does not constitute legal advice or an official assessment of your organisation's compliance. ========================================== Refund and Cancellation Policy Cancellation Windows • 14+ days before: Full transfer to another session or course credit (minus platform fees).
