Newark Tech Empowerment Day

Tech Empowerment Days (TEDs) are free, one-day events hosted by The Knowledge House that aim to empower young professionals and career changers interested in exploring technology careers. This autumn, TKH is bringing a Newark Tech Empowerment Day back to the community, and would be grateful for the opportunity to have the event included as part of Newark Tech Week. In workshops throughout the day, participants will learn about tech career pathways, develop critical digital literacy and AI skills for the workplace, get a hands-on introduction to coding and emerging technologies like GenAI, and network with community members and tech industry professionals. Attendees will also have the opportunity to attend an overview and Q&A session for the 2027 Innovation Fellowship, a free job training programme that prepares participants for tech-enabled roles across sectors, and will be invited to apply. The mission of the Knowledge House (TKH) is to empower and sustain a talent pipeline of technologists and digital leaders who will uplift their communities. Established in 2014, TKH provided tech training to more than 3,500 students from underserved communities across the country. With roots in the South Bronx, TKH is a national organisation delivering programmes in New York, Newark, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and the Washington D.C. region.
