The event titled "Hard Sciences for AI" is organised by ALMA MATER STUDIORUM - UNIVERSITY OF BOLOGNA - JOB PLACEMENT and takes place at the Accademia Delle Scienze in Bologna, Italy. This gathering is designed to bridge the gap between the fundamental sciences and artificial intelligence, showcasing a range of esteemed experts.

Workshop featuring eight internationally renowned speakers with backgrounds in physics, mathematics, and natural sciences. Keynotes by Marc Mézard and Florent Krzakala, pioneers in applying statistical physics to computer science. Panel discussion titled 'Towards a European Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence', focusing on theoretical foundations. The event aims to unify European AI research efforts and promote a long-term scientific vision and excellence. Hosted at the renowned Accademia delle Scienze, one of the oldest still existing scientific academies in the world. The panel discussion will take place in Sala VIII Centenario at Palazzo Poggi, University of Bologna. The event is funded by the European Union as part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
