Meet Edinburgh’s data science, machine learning and AI community over coffee on 13 August 2026 for informal, agenda-free professional networking.The Data Science Coffee Club offers a relaxed alternative to a conventional tech meetup. There are no slides, formal talks, pitches or fixed agenda: the focus is entirely on meeting fellow practitioners, comparing notes and discussing the work, challenges and ideas shaping the local data community.Hosted by Edinburgh Data Science and AI, this is the first edition of a coffee club intended to become a regular networking session during months when the group is not running one of its usual speaker events.## What to expectConversation will develop naturally around the interests and experiences of those in the room. Possible discussion areas include:- Data science, machine learning and AI projects currently in progress- Practical problems that attendees are trying to solve- Interesting tools, approaches and emerging ideas- Opportunities to collaborate, share knowledge or help one another- Developments across Edinburgh’s data science, ML and AI communityThe event is primarily aimed at data science and machine learning professionals. You do not need to be a regular member of the Edinburgh group, however: professionals visiting the city are also welcome. Its informal format should particularly suit people who value peer conversation and community connections over structured presentations.## Time and placeThe coffee club takes place downstairs at Black Medicine Coffee, 2 Nickolson Street, Edinburgh, on Thursday 13 August 2026, from 11:00am to 12:30pm BST.The late-morning schedule is a deliberate change from a typical evening meetup. Buy yourself a coffee or another drink, head downstairs and introduce yourself.
