In finance, the value of artificial intelligence does not depend solely on the sophistication of its models, but rather on its ability to operate in the real world: within regulated environments, on complex infrastructures, and in markets where liquidity, volume, and execution costs matter. In this new edition of AI Experience, organized by GBM, we will explore the present and future of artificial intelligence in the financial sector. We will discuss how AI agents are being incorporated into banking, the challenges that arise when implementing them in regulated environments, and the technological evolution that could transform the infrastructure on which these solutions are built. We will also analyze what happens when traditional valuation models face market impact and real execution conditions. We will open with Carlos Alberto Haro, AI Engineer at Santander Mexico, who will present “AI in Banking: Today and Tomorrow.” Carlos will explain how AI agents are defined and utilized within regulated environments, as well as some of the common problems institutions face when implementing them and the solutions that are emerging. Additionally, he will offer a future perspective through concepts such as the post-AI Data Stack and JEV, related to the evolution and disaggregation of the artificial intelligence technology stack. Next, Gerardo Hernández del Valle will present “Beyond the Single Price: Valuation, Arbitrage, and Market Impact.” Intuitively, he will explain how the volume of a trade can modify its price, the costs of replication, and the analysis of arbitrage opportunities. He will also introduce the concept of critical capacity: the maximum volume for which a replication strategy maintains an admissible financial interpretation. We will close with a panel moderated by Alejandro Correa Bahnsen, VP of Data & AI at GBM, to connect both perspectives and discuss the future of artificial intelligence and quantitative models in finance.
