Inside Tether’s Tech Stack: P2P, AI & Self-Custody

The next generation of digital infrastructure may look very different from the cloud-first systems we rely on today. As more of what we own moves online, including our financial assets and increasingly the intelligence tools we work with daily, questions about who actually controls that infrastructure become harder to set aside. Privacy and ownership are part of it. So is the plainer question of what happens when a handful of centralized providers go down. The NYU Blockchain Lab is pleased to welcome Tether for a deep dive into the technologies it is building beyond stablecoins. The session will cover Tether's open-source stack. Pear, its peer-to-peer application infrastructure, handles deployment without a central host. QVAC approaches the same problem from another angle, running AI locally on a user's own device rather than in the cloud. The Tether Wallet Development Kit (WDK) gives developers an open-source framework for building multi-chain, self-custodial wallets, designed for people and equally for the applications and autonomous agents acting on their behalf. We’ll be joined by Alberto Valero Cayón, Tech Expansion Manager at Tether, for a conversation on decentralized infrastructure, digital sovereignty, and what the next generation of internet-native applications could look like.
