This session brings together members of UKAI's Future Talent & AI Working Group to examine how artificial intelligence is influencing every stage of the hiring journey. AI tools are already embedded in recruitment processes — screening applications, assessing candidates, and informing selection decisions. While these technologies promise significant efficiency gains, they also raise critical questions about fairness, transparency, and trust. This event creates space for senior practitioners to explore both the opportunities and risks of AI in hiring. ## Session Structure The event is designed as an interactive roundtable experience, with participants divided into focus groups examining four distinct stages of the hiring process: - Application — How AI is changing how candidates apply and organisations receive applications - Screening — The role of AI in filtering and shortlisting candidates - Selection — AI's influence on assessment, interviews, and decision-making - Outcome — Post-hire impacts and long-term effects on workforce composition Each group will examine key considerations including efficiency gains, bias and fairness concerns, governance frameworks, legal implications, and candidate experience. Following the breakout discussions, groups will share insights with the wider room. ## Expert Panel The session concludes with reflections from an expert panel featuring senior leaders across HR, legal, and AI domains.
